CHABICHOU
The Chabichou du Poitou from Nouvelle-Aquitaine is an iconic goat cheese, known for its creamy texture, soft paste, and taste that is both mild, fresh, and delicately goaty. Originating from a PDO designation, this product accurately reflects the Poitou region's terroir, its hedgerows, pastures, and ancestral cheesemaking expertise.
Made from raw goat's milk, using an artisanal method that respects tradition, Chabichou is slowly matured to develop its character, aromas, and creamy texture. Beneath its slightly bloomy ivory rind, the paste first reveals a milky flavour, followed by a subtle, fresh goat note on the finish. This balance makes Chabichou a particularly appreciated French cheese, both on cheese boards and in cooking.
Its conical shape is a unique characteristic, inherited from its Poitevin origin. Our master cheesemakers carefully oversee the production and ageing process to ensure consistent quality and a rich, elegant tasting experience. This small cheese embodies great finesse.
Chabichou can be enjoyed on its own, with a few walnuts, a drizzle of honey, or a seasonal salad. It pairs perfectly with a dry white wine from the Loire or a light rosé. It naturally finds its place on a cheeseboard, during a family meal, or for a simple yet refined moment of pleasure.
