MONT D'OR PETIT MODELE AOP
Mont d'Or AOP is a seasonal icon of the Haut-Doubs, also known as Vacherin du Haut-Doubs. Made from raw Montbéliarde cow's milk in the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region, it is recognisable by its spruce-bark band and its soft, runny paste. A winter cheese, it is on sale from 10 September to 10 May. On a cheese board it holds a place of its own, gentle and woody at once. It is one of our most awaited raw cow's milk cheeses of winter, and part of our AOP cheese selection.
Beneath its washed, lightly wrinkled golden rind, Mont d'Or AOP reveals a supple paste that turns runny at full maturity. The spruce band wrapped around it carries resinous, woody notes, while the raw milk keeps a clean, gently lactic expression. Its body and texture make it a cheese for sharing. Traditionally baked in the oven and served with steamed potatoes and charcuterie, we also love it simply by the spoon when its ripeness allows. Rediscover the true taste of a well-ripened Mont d'Or, wonderfully creamy with a woody touch, on a fine slice of fresh bread. Mont d'Or sits firmly within the cheese tradition of Bourgogne Franche-Comté.
