Originating from the foothills of the Vercors in the historic Dauphiné region, farmhouse Saint-Marcellin is a small yet expressive cheese with remarkable depth. Made from raw cow’s milk by the Ferme de Plantimay, it develops a gently wrinkled rind covered with fine white down as it ripens, protecting an increasingly soft and luscious ivory paste.
With maturation, its texture becomes delicately runny, delivering a generous mouthfeel and complex aromatic profile. Fresh cream and buttery notes mingle with a subtle rustic, animal character typical of traditional cheeses from this terroir.
Carefully aged to achieve the perfect balance between intensity and elegance, it is delicious enjoyed simply with country bread or melted into refined dishes where its creamy texture enhances flavour and richness.
