BRILLAT SAVARIN IGP
Often referred to as the “foie gras of cheeses”, Brillat-Savarin is simply irresistible!
As Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin himself once said: “A meal without cheese is like a beautiful woman with only one eye.”
Created in Normandy at the request of renowned cheesemakers, including Henri Androuet who named it in honor of Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin — the first French food writer, known for saying: “A meal without cheese is like a beautiful woman with only one eye.”
Brillat-Savarin is the most iconic of the double-cream cheeses — a lactic cheese enriched with cream — first produced in large quantities in the early 20th century. Its rich, melt-in-the-mouth texture and buttery lightness make it a true crowd-pleaser, loved for both its indulgence and elegance.
