A raw milk farmhouse goat’s cheese marked with an Occitan cross on its ash-coated rind. Montesquieu offers a creamy white paste with warm caprine aromas and subtle notes of dried herbs.
Produced in a renowned goat-farming area of Occitanie, Montesquieu is a distinctive farmhouse cheese identified by its traditional Occitan cross imprint made with edible ash. Beneath its lightly bloomy rind lies a very white, creamy paste that becomes firmer and more enveloping as it matures.
On the palate, it reveals warm caprine flavours complemented by hints of dried herbs and straw, expressing the character of its pastoral terroir. Despite its broad rind surface, the texture remains remarkably refined, offering both precision and depth.
Enjoyed young for its melting softness or more mature for a fuller aromatic expression, it is a beautifully authentic addition to any cheese selection.
